Inside Out is a series of concrete castings from the insides of five pairs of shoes. In the late 1990s, many of the shoes I had worn thoughout my life no longer fit, or were worn out. I wanted to get rid of them. However, some had been favorites, and had accompanied me on many journeys and through many experiences. Feeling that there was energy inside the shoes that could be captured as a physical manifestation, I decided to pour concrete into them. The results were surprising, and had an "other lives" quality, which has been noted in the titles of the pieces.
