Each of the works in this series is made up of two elements, one three-dimensional and the other two-dimensional. The sculptural elements are created by painting plaster over natural materials, such as branches, blossoms, leaves, and roots. Painting plaster over these materials results in splatters and drips of plaster falling to the ground. These are then pulled from the ground by adhering to the acrylic painted onto a sheet of rag paper. This speaks about action and residue, that which is thrown off and left behind. In this situation the residue has been saved and exhibited along with the three-dimensional piece, adding a time connection between the two elements. Part of the creation is the formation of an historical memory.
